Aaah, mornings! Gone are the days of relaxing with the papers and a cup of tea (cappuccino for V!), before taking time to decide upon the day’s outfit. And face! With 6 kids between us – and M has a cheeky dog to walk too! – the mornings are now a blur of school uniforms, spilt cereal and blobs of toothpaste frustratingly discovered on  door handles!! Which leaves very little time for makeup. Which is why beauty is our sanctuary…and the reason for our partnership. For us, luxury makeup equals our happy place!

Luckily we’ve both managed to get our routines down to just a few minutes, using a handful of great products. And here we show you exactly how. These are the products we each use for a super-quick, glowing and natural Verymakeupmad look…

V’s Face…

Estee Lauder Perfectionist Youth-Infusing Makeup, £41. This is my everyday ‘go-to’ foundation. It literally glides onto skin and stays put all day, giving me a dewy, fresh-faced finish. I’ve yet to find a light, natural foundation to compare.

Estee Lauder Double Wear  Brush-On Glow, £25. This is Estee Lauder’s take on the iconic YSL Touche Eclat. And I’m loving it. It’s a brilliant under-eye brightener, adds a soft radiance  wherever I want it, and can also be used as a concealer on spots and red patches.

Guerlain Terracotta Light Bronzer, £37. Guerlain invented the bronzer, and I’ve been faithful to the brand since I started using their bronzing powders around 25 years ago. This version, with its 3 different tones and subtle shimmer, is light and natural-looking and ‘lifts’ my face instantly.

YSL Couture Blush in Rose Lavalliere, £32. This is a new blush in my – rather extensive! – collection!! And I’m really impressed. It’s a softly shimmering, candy pink, that looks far less pink once it’s applied to the cheeks and gives a beautifully healthy flush.

Hourglass Scattered Light Glitter Eyeshadow in Aura, £26 I call this glitter for grown-ups. It’s the most beautiful, pressed glitter shadow, designed to be applied with the fingers, that just adds a flattering element of light to the eyelids. Don’t be put off by the idea of glitter… this definitely works for a daytime look.

Estee Lauder Sumptuous Extreme Mascara, £26 This is a new purchase and so far, so good. It lengthens lashes, adds volume and once applied, doesn’t budge all day.

Marc Jacobs Enamored Lip Gloss in Love Buzz, £22 The ultimate, pinky gold shade, this is a fab, creamy lipgloss with a minty scent. I’m hooked. And it was a gift from M… she knows me so well!
M’s Face…

Erborian CC Creme, £17. I love this clever cream that instantly morphs to the colour of my skin and makes me feel all happy that those little red blotches vanish each and every day on application.

BeneFit Hoola Lite, £22.10 I love sweeping this lighter version of this iconic bronzing hero all over my face, paying attention to my jawline and blending well. The matt powder is perfect for the winter months and I’ll move on to my summer bronzer when my freckles start to appear.

Hourglass Ambient Lighting Powder, £42.00. As a blush addict I certainly cannot use just one, so this is my ‘definer blush’ of choice. I brush onto cheekbones to give definition and drama

Hourglass Ambient Lighting Blush in Radiant Magenta, £22.00 This is blush number 2 – a pigmented, pink marbled powder that I pop onto the apples of my cheeks and I’m almost good to go…

Tom Ford Cream and Powder Eye Colour in Golden Peach, £49.00 This is not cheap, by any stretch of the imagination but I’ve been using it now for well over a year and it’s still full to the brim (so that makes me feel better about my splurge!) Lightly stroke the golden peachy cream onto your lids for a gorgeous finish.

Tom Ford Mascara, £38. For the ultimate lifting and lengthening mascara, try this beauty. I normally reach for an Eyeko mascara, but some days just call for Tom Ford! I do always have a TF product or two on my birthday and general wish list…. Marvellous mascara is a must have!

Marc Jacobs Enamored Lip Gloss in Rio, £22 Lipglosses don’t come more girly than this. An amazing bubblegum pink, that really suits me because of its cool tone. And it’s taken me years to find the perfect pink, so Marc, don’t even think about discontinuing it!!
